Kayaking down from Point of Rocks, a great place to stop and enjoy the history of Monocacy Aquaduct and gorgeous sunset upriver. The firewood was already set up and all we needed was a match for a wonderful campfire and dinner. Good water and facilities. My grandson loved it as well.

Great view of the river. Issues with raccoons - mostly my fault cause I stuck my food in my bivy sack, so they poked a few holes in my fly net. Also, the water pump doesn’t work. Once the last two issues are dealt with, it’s just a great free campsite.

An acceptable campsite that has iodine-treated water from well, a chemical toilet and a pair of fire rings. It could likely accommodate up to 20 campers. Very convenient for bike-packing campers, but since it is so close to two different road access points I would not recommend it for weekend camping since there will guaranteed be a crowd in warmer months. Bike-packers headed out of town on the C and O should go the extra 8 kilometres to the next campground.

Nice view and neat facility. It is close from parking lot and thus could be too clowded during high seasons, but with an accompanying daughter who preferred easy access and in the winter time, I think it was a perfect choice.
